Sorry not writing for last 2 days. Yesterday’s match was again an one-sided match. The match was played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first. Although they lost Parthiv Patel early in 1st over of the innings, Mumbai Indians innings had a bad start. Simmons scored a brisk 68 off 45 balls & crushed the Chennai bowling attack. This was the highest score in Mumbai Indians innings. This was Simmons’ 2nd highest score in IPL 2015 behind 71 runs against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali on May 3. Negi dropped Simmons at the middle stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Simmons was on 50 runs. It was a bit costly miss as Simmons went on to score 68 runs. Rohit Sharma scored a huge 50 off 26 balls & destroyed the Chennai bowlers. This was Rohit’s 2nd highest score at this ground in IPL 2015 behind 98 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 8. Mumbai Indians innings was comfortably placed 120 for 1 in 11.5 overs. The 119 run-stand between Simmons & Rohit in 67 balls steadied the Mumbai Indians innings. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. This was 3rd highest partnership for any wicket in IPL final behind 159 runs between Vijay & Michael Hussey  for Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai in 2011  & 129 runs between Saha & Bailey for Kings XI Punjab against Kolkata Knight Riders at Bangalore last year. They lost 2 wickets Rohit Sharma & Simmons in quick succession. Pollard scored a quickfire 36 off 18 balls & hammered the Chennai bowlers. Rayudu scored a brilliant 36 off 24 balls & attacked the Chennai bowlers. Smith dropped Rayudu at the final stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Rayudu was on 28 runs. It was not a costly miss as Rayudu could score only 36 runs. The 71 run-stand between Pollard & Rayudu in 40 balls paced the Mumbai Indians innings. They lost 2 wickets Pollard & Pandya again in quick succession. They started very quick in first 10 overs & also very quick in later overs. Chennai Super Kings bowlers sprayed all over the field throughout the innings. Mumbai Indians innings final total was 202 for 5 in 20 overs. This was 2nd highest total by a team in IPL final behimd 205 runs for Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai in 2011.

Although they lost Mike Hussey early in 5th over of the innings, Chennai Super Kings innings had a solid start. Dwayne Smith scored a fine 57 off 48 balls & tried to squeeze the Mumbai bowlers. This was the highest score in Chennai Super Kings innings. Chennai Super Kings innings was comfortably placed at 88 for 1 in 11.4 overs. The 66 run-stand between Smith & Raina in 43 balls increased the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Chennai Super Kings innings. They lost last 7 wickets for 49 runs in the span of 6.4 overs & changed the situation. They started not very quick in first 10 overs & picked up speed in later overs. McClenaghan took 3 wickets for 25 runs & Mumbai won comfortably. Chennai Super Kings innings final total was 161 for 8 in 20 overs. Vinay Kumar bowled the final ball. Mumbai won the match by 41 runs.

With this win Mumbai Indians won the 2nd IPL crown. This was 3rd team to win the IPL twice after Chennai Super Kings & Kolkata Knight Riders.

At another place Zimbabwe innings total was 175 for 3 in 20 overs. Williams went on to score 58 runs. Pakistan innings final total was 176 for 8 in 19.4 overs. Mukhtar Ahmed scored his 2nd consecutive 50. Pakistan won the match by 2 wickets. Pakistan won the series with 2-0 margin.

The 37 run-stand between du Plessis & Dhoni in 36 balls tried to pace the Chennai Super Kings innings fightback. This was the highest partnership in Chennai Super Kings innings. du Plessis scored a brisk 29 off 23 balls & tried to attack the Delhi bowlers. This was the highest score in Chennai Super Kings innings. This was du Plessis’ 2nd highest score in IPL 2015 till yesterday behind 33 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Hyderabad on May 2. This was lowest total by a team at this ground in IPL beating 139 runs for Pune Warriors India also against Delhi Daredevils in 2013.

Delhi Daredevils innings had a solid start. They lost 2 early wickets de Kock & Duminy  in quick succession. With the departure of two Delhi Daredevils batsmen Delhi Daredevils innings was reduced to 24 for 2 in 4.1 overs. Shreyas Iyer score a huge 70 off 49 balls & crushed the Chennai bowling attack. This was the highest score in Delhi Daredevils innings. This was Iyer’s 2nd highest of his IPL career behind 83 runs against Mumbai Indians at Delhi this season. Mohit Sharma dropped a steepler to Shreyas Iyer at the middle stages of Delhi Daredevils innings when Iyer was on 34 runs. It was a costly miss as Iyer went on to score 70 runs. Yuvraj Singh scored a fine 32 off 28 balls & tried to hammer the Chennai bowlers. Delhi Daredevils innings was comfortably placed 93 for 2 in 13.1 overs. The 69 run-stand between Shreyas Iyer & Yuvraj Singh in 55 balls tried to increase the run-rate & Delhi won comfortably. This was the highest partnership in Delhi Daredevils innings. They lost 2 wickets Yuvraj Singh & Albie Morkel also in quick succession. Pandey took 2 wickets for 27 runs. They started quick in first 10 overs & also quick in later overs. Delhi Daredevils innings final total was 120 for 4 in 16.4 overs. Shreyas Iyer hit the winning run. Delhi won the match by 6 wickets after missed by a whisker in the last match. This was Delhi’s 5th win in IPL 2015.

Now, Delhi Daredevils will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 17th May. Chennai Super Kings will face Kings XI Punjab at PCA Stadium on 16th May.

Dhawan scored a huge 37 off 32 balls & tried to pace the innings. They lost 3 wickets for 45 runs in the span of 5 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings was steady at 156 for 3 in 16 overs. The 25 run-stand between Morgan & Naman Ojha in 19 balls was not crucial. Morgan scored a quickfire 32 off 27 balls & tried to attack the Chennai bowlers. Although they lost McCullum early in 2nd over of the innings, Chennai Super Kings innings had a solid start. The 34 run-stand between Dwayne Smith & Raina in 20 balls was important. They lost 2 wickets Dwayne Smith & Raina in quick succession. Praveen Kumar dropped & missed a run-out of du Plessis at the middle stages of Chennai Super Kings innings when du Plessis was on 18 runs. At another place England first innings was bowled out at 257 runs. Cook ended 2 years run drought with a century. Cook went on to score 105 runs. This was Cook 26th test century. West Indies first innings  was also bowled out at 189 runs. Anderson took 6 wickets for 40 runs in the innings. This was Anderson’s 22nd 5+ wicket haul. England second innings  was 39 for 5. 18 wickets had fallen on second day & happened first time at Barbados.

Chennai won the match by 2 runs. This was Chennai’s 9th consecutive win at this ground.

Royal Challengers Bangalore innings final total was 154 for 8 in 20 overs. Dwayne Smith took the winning catch & Chennai won comfortably. Chennai won the match by 27 runs. This was Chennai’s 4th win in 5 matches in IPL 2015. Bangalore still finish bottom of the points table.

This was Rajasthan’s 5th consecutive win in IPL 2015.  Rajasthan Royals are  the only team to remain unbeaten in IPL 2015 till today. With the departure of top three batsmen Mumbai Indians innings was reduced to 12 for 3 in 3.4 overs. Dhoni dropped Harbhajan Singh at the middle stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Harbhajan Singh was on 19 runs. It was not a costly miss as Harbhajan Singh could score only 24 runs. The 45 run-stand between Rohit Sharma & Harbhajan Singh in 35 balls tried to steady the Mumbai Indians innings. They lost Harbhajan Singh in 10th over of the innings. Rohit Sharma scored a brisk 50 off 31 balls & tried to crush the Chennai bowling attack. Mumbai Indians innings was comfortably placed 132 for 4 in 14.5 overs. The 75 run-stand between Rohit Sharma & Pollard in 33 balls increased the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. This was the 2nd highest 4th wicket partnership by a team in IPL 2015 till yesterday behind 131 runs between Rohit Sharma and Corey Anderson also for Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 8. They also lost Rohit Sharma in 15th over of the innings. Pollard scored a huge 64 off 30 balls & battered the Chennai bowlers. This was the highest score in Mumbai innings. This was Pollard’s joint highest score at this ground as similar to 64 runs against Rajasthan Royals in 2012. The 49 run-stand between Pollard & Rayudu in 28 balls was crucial. This was the 3rd consecutive 40+ run partnership by a team  & happened 3rd time in IPL history. They also lost last 2 wickets Pollard & Rayudu in quick succession. They started slow in first 10 overs & picked up speed in later overs. Chennai Super Kings bowlers bowled very well in first 10 overs. Nehra bowled a lethal spell & took 3 crucial wickets in the innings. Mumbai Indians final total was 183 for 7 in 20 overs. This was Mumbai’s highest total against Chennai Super Kings at this ground beating 172 runs in 2014.

Chennai Super Kings innings had a very good start. Chennai Super Kings innings was comfortably placed 109 for 0 in 7.1 overs. The 109 run-stand between Dwayne Smith & Brendon McCullum in 44 balls increased the run-rate & it looked Chennai will win comfortably. This was the highest partnership in Chennai Super Kings innings. IPL 2015: CSK V SRH

Today’s first match was a high-scoring match. The match was played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bat first. Chennai Super Kings had a very good start. The 75 run-stand between Smith & McCullum in 49 balls increased the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Chennai Super Kings innings. They lost Smith in 9th over of the innings. The 60 run-stand between McCullum & Raina in 26 balls build the Chennai Super Kings innings. They also lost Raina in 14th over of the innings. Williamson dropped McCullum in the middle stages of Chennai Super Kings innings when McCullum was on 86. It was not a costly miss as McCullum could score only 100 runs.  McCullum scored a brisk 100 off 56 & crushed the Hyderabad bowling attack. This was McCullum’s 2nd IPL hundred of his career. This was McCullum’s first IPL century since 2008. This was first century by a batsman in IPL 2015. This was the highest score in Chennai innings. This was also the highest score by a batsman in IPL 2015. The 63 run-stand between McCullum & Dhoni in 35 balls  was crucial. This was 3 consecutive 50+ partnership in the innings & happened first time in IPL history. Dhoni scored a huge 53 off 29 & destroyed the Hyderabad bowlers. Chennai Super Kings was comfortably placed 198 for 2 in 19.1 overs. They lost Dhoni & Jadeja in quick succession. Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers sprayed runs all over the field & were pretty ordinary. Chennai Super Kings final total was 209 for 4 in 20 overs. This was the Chennai’s 3rd highest total at this ground behind 246 for 5 against Rajasthan Royals in 2010 & 222 for 5 against Delhi Daredevils in 2012.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a brisk start. They lost 2 wickets Dhawan & Rahul early in quick succession. The 45 run-stand between Warner & Naman Ojha in 33 balls was much responsible for Sunrisers Hyderabad innings. This was the highest partnership in Sunrisers Hyderabad innings. Warner scored a quickfire 53 off 42 & tried to attack the Chennai bowlers. This was the highest score in Hyderabad innings. Sunrisers Hyderabad was comfortably placed 91 for 2 in 11.2 overs. They lost last 4 wickets for 59 runs in the span of 7.4 overs. But the situation changed after that. Sunrisers Hyderabad was reduced to 150 for 6 in 19 overs. They started quickly in first 10 overs & slowly in later overs. Bravo took 2 crucial wickets for 25 runs & it looked Chennai Super Kings will win comfortably. Sunrisers Hyderabad final total was 164 for 6 in 20 overs. Mohit Sharma bowled a final ball & Chennai won comfortably. Chennai Super Kings won the match by 45 runs. This was Chennai’s second consecutive win in IPL 2015. This was Sunrisers second consecutive loss in opening matches of IPL 7 & 8 editions.

Now, Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on 17th April. Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 13th April.

They lost 2 wickets McCullum & Raina early in quick succession. Gautam dropped Smith at a very middle stages of Chennai Super Kings innings when Smith was on 32. It was not a costly miss as Smith could score only 34 runs. The 33 run-stand between Smith & du Plessis in 25 balls tried to steady the Chennai Spuer Kings innings. This was the highest partnership in Chennai Super Kings innings. Smith scored a brisk 34 off 31 & tried to crush the Delhi bowling attack. This was the highest score in the innings. Chennai Super Kings innings was comfortably placed 71 for 2 in 8 overs. They lost last 5 wickets for 77 runs in the span of 11.5 overs. Chennai Super Kings final total was 150 for 7 in 20 overs. Delhi Daredevils bowlers bowled very well & bowled fire in death overs. Coulter-Nile bowled a lethal spell & took 3 crucial wickets in an innings. Delhi Daredevils innings had a very bad start. They lost 3 wickets early in quick succession. Delhi Daredevils innings was comfortably placed 87 for 3 in 13 overs. The 48 run-stand between Morkel & Jadhav in 49 balls was crucial. This was the highest partnership in Delhi Daredevils innings. Morkel scored a huge 73 off 55 & destroyed the Chennai bowlers & it looked Delhi Daredevils will win comfortably. This was the highest score in the innings. This was Morkel’s highest score in IPL career They lost last 6 wickets for 50 runs in the span of 11.3 overs & the situation was changing. Nehra took 3 wickets for 25 runs & it looked Chennai Super Knigs will win comfortably. Delhi Daredevils final total was 149 for 9 in 20 overs. Bravo bowled a winning ball & Chennai won comfortably. Chennai Super King won the match by 1 run. This was Chennai’s smallest win by runs in IPL matches. This was Delhi’s Daredevils 10th consecutive loss in IPL matches.

Now, Chennai Super Kings will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chepauk on 11th April. Delhi Daredevils will face Rajasthan Royals at Kotla on 12th April.
