Yesterday’s match was a low-scoring match. The match was played at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bat first. Mumbai start was not good. They lost 2 wickets for 8 runs in the span of 2.5 overs. Mumbai score 21 for 2 in powerplay. This was the lowest powerplay score by team in this season. Nitish Rana hit 3 sixes off Mohit Sharma’s 3rd over. Mumbai was weakly placed at 36 for 2 in 8.4 overs. The 28-run stand between Rohit Sharma and Nitish Rana in 36 balls paced the Mumbai innings. They lost Rohit Sharma in penultimate ball of 9th over of the innings. They lost last 4 wickets for 11 runs in the span of 2 overs and Punjab also made a comeback. Mumbai was also reduced to 114 for 9 in 18.3 overs. Mumbai posted not a competitive total of 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. This was the second lowest total for Mumbai in this season behind 92 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad also at Visakhapatnam last week. Stoinis was the most successful bowler for Punjab when he took 4 wickets including 2 wickets in 17th over of the innings. This was his best bowling performance in IPL against his previous best off 3 for 20 vs Delhi Daredevils at Mohali last week.

Punjab start was also not good. They lost Hashim Amla early in last ball of 1st over of the innings. Hashim Amla was out LBW by Southee in his first over. This was his first duck in his IPL career. Punjab hit 5 fours in the end of 6th over of the innings. Vijay hit an ample shot off McClenaghan’s 2nd over. Wriddhiman Saha hit a four in extra cover drive off Southee’s 3rd over. Vijay tried to leave the bounce off Harbhajan Singh’s 1st over. Jos Buttler beats a run off Harbhajan Singh’s same over but umpire signaled as 4 byes. They working them around and loose the ball of Krunal Pandya’s 2nd over. Punjab was comfortably placed at 117 for 1 in 15.3 overs and it looked Punjab will win the match. Wriddhiman Saha scored a brilliant 56 off 40 balls and destroyed the Mumbai bowlers. This was his 2nd fifty of the season and overall 5th fifty in his IPL career. This was his highest score of the season against his previous highest of 52 runs vs Delhi Daredevils at Mohali last week. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. The 116-run stand between Vijay and Wriddhiman Saha in 88 balls was the highest. This was the highest second-wicket partnership for Punjab in this season against their previous highest of 72 runs by same pair vs Gujarat Lions at Rajkot fortnight ago. Wriddhiman Saha was bowled by McClenaghan in his last over. They lost 2 more wickets for 1 run in the span of 2 balls and it look Mumbai will make a comeback. Vijay scored a fine 54 off 52 balls and hammered the Mumbai bowlers. This was his 4th fifty of the season and overall 10th fifty in his IPL career. Vijay hit the winning four and Punjab won comfortably. McClenaghan was the most successful bowler for Mumbai when he took 2 wickets including consecutive  wickets in 16th over of the innings. Punjab won the match by 7 wickets. This was Punjab’s 4th win in IPL 2016. Both teams are chance to make playoff spot if they win remaining matches.

Sorry for not writing for 1 match. Yesterday’s match was a classic match. The match was played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore start was not good. Kohli was caught by Harbhajan Singh off McClenaghan’s 1st over. Gayle was caught by Rohit Sharma off Southee’s 2nd over. They lost 2 wickets for 17 runs in the span of 3.4 overs and it looked Mumbai will make a comeback. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 60 for 2 in 10 overs. The 43-run stand between AB de Villiers and KL Rahul in 39 balls increased the run-rate. They lost AB de Villiers in first ball of 11th over of the innings. AB de Villiers was caught by Rayudu off Krunal Pandya’s 2nd over. KL Rahul twisted his left ankle on 23 runs ans was struck on the glove by McClenaghan’s bouncer on 34 runs. It was a great recovery as he went on to score 34 more runs. Shane Watson hit a six and a four off McClenaghan’s 3rd over. Bangalore was also comfortably placed 98 for 3 in 15.2 overs. The 38-run stand between KL Rahul and Shane Watson in 32 balls paced the Bangalore innings. They lost Shane Watson in 16th over of the innings. Shane Watson was run out by a direct throw by Rohit Sharma. Bangalore was reduced to 98 for 4 in 15.3 overs. KL Rahul scored 34 runs in the Vs between fine leg and square leg and square leg and midwicket. KL Rahul scored a fine 68 off 53 balls and destroyed the Mumbai bowlers. This was his 4th fifty of the season and overall also 4th fifty in his IPL career. This was his highest score of the season against his previous highest of 52 runs vs Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru last week. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. The 53-run stand between KL Rahul and Sachin Baby in 27 balls was the highest and remained unbeaten. Bangalore posted a competitive total of 151 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. This was the lowest total for Bangalore in this season but previous lowest was 172 runs also against Mumbai Indians at Mumbai in their previous encounter. Chris Jordan conceded 16 runs in his final over and the equation down to 10 off 12 and Mumbai made a comeback. Pollard scored a brutal 35 off 19 balls and smashed the Bangalore bowling. This was his second highest score of the season behind 51 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai. Jos Buttler scored a quickfire 29 off 11 balls and attacked the Bangalore bowling. The 55-run stand between Pollard and Jos Buttler in 21 balls remained unbeaten and fought back. Jos Buttler hit the winning six and Mumbai won comfortably. Varun Aaron was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 2 wickets. Mumbai won the match by 6 wickets. This was Mumbai’s 6th win in IPL 2016 and move up to top 4 again.

Sorry for not writing update for last match. Yesterday’s second match was an interesting match. The match was played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. This was the last match to be played in drought-hit state of Maharashtra this season.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first. Pune start was not good. They lost Rahane early in penultimate ball of 2nd over of the innings. Rahane was caught by Krunal Pandya off McClenaghan’s 1st over. Saurabh Tiwary was dropped by Bumrah in early stages of the innings when he was on 4 runs. It was a costly miss as he went on to score 53 more runs. He raced from 6 off 11 to 34 off 22 balls. Bumrah struck off his second ball to Steven Smith as he attempted to dab down just like oil running out.  Pune was comfortably placed at 92 for 1 in 9.1 overs. Steven Smith scored a classy 45 off 23 balls and attacked Mumbai bowling in his last game of the season. The 84-run stand between Saurabh Tiwary and Steven Smith in 45 balls was the highest. Steven Smith was caught by Parthiv Patel off Bumrah’s 2nd over. They lost 2 more wickets for 13 runs in the span of 3 overs and Mumbai made a comeback. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. The 70-run stand between Rohit Sharma and Buttler in 41 balls was the highest and remained unbeaten. Buttler scored a quickfire 27 off 17 balls smashed Pune bowling. This was the highest 3rd wicket partnership for Mumbai in this season. Rohit Sharma hit the winning six and Mumbai won comfortably. Dinda and Ravichandran Ashwin took 1 wicket each for Pune. This was the second highest successful chase by team at this ground in IPL matches behind 162 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders also against Rising Pune Supergiants earlier this season. Mumbai won the match by 8 wickets. This was Mumbai’s 5th win in IPL 2016. Pune finished at home ground with no wins this season.

IPL 2016: DD V MI

Yesterday’s first match was an exciting match. The match was played at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first. Delhi start was not good. They lost de Kock early in last ball of 2nd over of the innings. de Kock was caught by Hardik Pandya of McClenaghan’s bowling.after that Delhi was comfortably placed at 48 for 1 in 6.5 overs. The 37-run stand between Shreyas Iyer and Samson in 30 balls increased the run-rate. They lost 2 more wickets for 12 runs in the span of 1.1 overs. Shreyas Iyer was caught by Rayudu of Hardik Pandya’s bowling and Karun Nair was caught by Southee of Harbhajan Singh’s bowling. Samson hit a boundary of Krunal Pandya’s bowling and it was a nasty collision between Hardik Pandya and Buttler when Buttler’s chest bumped into Hardik  Pandya’s face. Hardik Pandya has been lifted off the field.  Delhi was also comfortably placed at 125 for 3 in 16.2 overs. The 71-run stand between Samson and JP Duminy in 51 balls was the highest. Samson scored a fine 60 off 48 balls and destroyed the Mumbai bowlers. This was his 1st fifty of the season & overall 5th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score by batsmen in this innings. They lost Samson in 17th over of the innings. Samson was also caught by Southee of McClenaghan’s bowling. JP Duminy was caught by Parthiv Patel of Bumrah’s bowling in last over but umpire signaled as no-ball for bowling above waistline. The 39-run stand between JP Duminy and Negi in 21 balls remained unbeaten. JP Duminy scored a classy 49 off 31 balls and attacked the Mumbai bowling. Delhi  posted a competitive total of 164 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. McClenaghan was the most successful bowler for Mumbai when he took 2 wickets. He earned the Purple Cap for taking 9 wickets which are highest in this season till now.

Mumbai also started badly. They lost Parthiv Patel early in 2nd over of the innings. Parthiv Patel was run out by a throw of Shreyas Iyer & de Kock. JP Duminy dropped Rayudu in early stages of Mumbai innings when he was on 17 runs. It was not a costly miss as he could  score only 8 more runs. Mumbai was comfortably placed at 62 for 1 in 8.2 overs. The 53-run stand between Rohit Sharma and  Rayudu in 41 balls was the highest. Rayudu was bowled by Amit Mishra.  Mumbai was also comfortably placed at 103 for 2 in 12.3 overs and it looked Mumbai will win comfortably. The 41-run stand between Rohit Sharma & Krunal Pandya in 25 balls increased the run-rate. Krunal Pandya’s run out was the turning point as Krunal Pandya scored a quickfire 36 off 17 balls and he was taking match away from Delhi. after this Delhi choked Mumbai for runs. Mumbai  lost Jos Buttler in next over. Mumbai was reduced to 110 for 4 in 14.3 overs. Mumbai was weakly placed at 144 for 4 in 18.5 overs. The 34-run stand between Rohit Sharma & Pollard in 27 balls revived some hope but they lost last 3 wickets for 8 runs in the span of 0.5 overs & Delhi made a comeback. Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 65 off 48 balls and  hammered the Delhi bowlers. This was his 3rd fifty of the season & overall 27th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score by batsmen in this innings. He was run out by a throw of Negi, Chris Morris & de Kock . Unfortunately  it was second nasty collision of the day between Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma. when Morris fumbles and there is a mid-pitch collision. Harbhajan Singh was out LBW of Chris Morris in the last over. Delhi won in a thrilling finish. Morris conceded only  10 runs for 2 wickets including the run-out in final over of the innings. Amit Mishra was the most successful bowler for Delhi when he took 2 wickets. Delhi won the match by 10 runs. This was the first closer victory in terms of runs by a team in this season. This was Delhi’s 3rd win in IPL 2016.

Now, Delhi Daredevils will face Gujarat Lions on April 27. Mumbai Indians will also take on Kings XI Punjab on April 25.

The 59-run stand between Kohli & de Villiers in 39 balls increasing the run-rate. They lost 3 wickets for 8 runs in the span of 3.2 overs & Mumbai will make a comeback. Kohli scored a classy 33 off 30 balls shattered the Mumbai bowling. Bangalore was also kept placed at 162 for 4 in 19 overs. The 63-run stand between Head & Sarfaraz Khan in 34 balls was the highest. They lost last 3 wickets for 7 runs in the span of 0.5 overs. Head scored a fine 37 off 24 balls attacked the Mumbai bowling. This was the highest score in this innings. This was his debut match in his IPL career. Bangalore lost 3 wickets for 8 runs in the  final over drama. Bangalore posted a competitive total of 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Bumrah was the most successful bowler for Mumbai when he took 3 wickets & 2 in the final over. This was his best bowling figures in IPL career.

Mumbai was also not having a good note. They lost Parthiv Patel early in 2nd over of the innings. Richardson was caught by de Villiers to dismiss Parthiv Patel in 2nd over of Mumbai innings. Mumbai was also kept placed at 140 for 3 in 15.3 overs. The 31-run stand between Jos Buttler & Pollard in 16 balls was the second highest & increasing the run-rate. They lost Buttler in 16th over of the innings. Iqbal Abdulla was caught by Watson to dismiss Buttler in 16th over of Mumbai innings. Pollard scored a brutal 39 off 19 balls hammered the Bangalore bowlers. The 31-run stand between Pollard & Hardik Pandya in 14 balls remained unbeaten. Pollard hit the winning four & Mumbai won comfortably. Iqbal Abdulla was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 3 wickets in his first game of the season. Mumbai won the match by 6 wickets. This was Mumbai’s 2nd win in IPL 2016.

Now, Mumbai Indians will face Delhi Daredevils on April 23. Royal Challengers Bangalore will also take on Rising Pune Supergiants on April 22.

IPL 2016: SRH V MI

Yesterday’s match was an one-sided match. The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai was not having a good note. They lost 4 wickets for 60 runs in the span of 10.4 overs. Mumbai was weakly placed at 123 for 4 in 17 overs. The 63-run stand between Rayudu & Krunal Pandya in 39 balls was the highest. Rayudu scored a fine 54 off 49 balls shattered against Hyderabad bowling. This was his 1st fifty of the season & overall 13th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score in this innings. The Pandyas brothers take the center stage for the first time in IPL history. They lost Rayudu & Hardik Pandya in 18th & 19th over of the innings respectively. Sran caught by Henriques to dismiss Rayudu in 18th over of Mumbai innings. Mustafizur Rahman bowled by Hardik Pandya in 19th over of Mumbai innings. Krunal Pandya scored a brilliant 49 off 28 balls destroyed the Hyderabad bowlers. He was just 1 short of 1st ever fifty in his second IPL game. Mumbai was not a competitive total of 142 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Sran was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad when he took 3 wickets.

Hyderabad was also not having a good note. They lost Dhawan early in 1st over of the innings. Southee bowled by Dhawan early in 1st over of Hyderabad innings. Dhawan poor form continues since the World T20. Hyderabad was comfortably placed at 66 for 1 in 10 overs. The 62-run stand between Warner & Henriques in 56 balls was the highest. The 45-run stand between Warner & Deepak Hooda in 19 balls remained unbeaten. Warner scored a quickfire 90 off 59 balls hammered the Mumbai bowlers. This was his 2nd fifty of the season & overall 20th fifty of his IPL career. This was the second highest score by Hyderabad batsmen behind 91 runs also held by Warner against Kolkata at Visakhapatnam last year. This was the highest score in the innings. Warner hit the winning six and Hyderabad won comfortably. Hyderabad was a respective total of 145 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Hyderabad won the match by 7 wickets. Southee was the most successful bowler for Mumbai when he took 3 wickets. This was Hyderabad’s 1st win in IPL 2016.

Now, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Gujarat Lions on April 21. Mumbai Indians will also take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 20.

IPL 2016: MI V GL

Yesterday’s second match was a thrilling match. The match was played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Gujarat Lions won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai was not having a good note. They lost Rohit Sharma & Hardik Pandya early in 2nd & 4th over respectively. The 32-run stand between Parthiv Patel & Jos Buttler  in 32 balls. Parthiv Patel scored a fine 34 off 29 balls. This was the highest score in this innings. Mumbai was comfortably placed at 51 for 2 in 8.4 overs. They lost 5 wickets for 48 runs in the span of 8.2 overs. Mumbai was reduced to 99 for 7 in 17 overs. The 42-run stand between Krunal Pandya & Southee in 17 balls was the highest. Mumbai made a comeback and scored 61 runs in the last 5 overs.  Southee run out to Bravo in penultimate ball of the innings. Mumbai was not a respective total of 143 runs for 8 wickets.  Dhawal Kulkarni & Tambe took 2 wickets each in Mumbai innings.

Lions was also not having a good note. Finch dropped Buttler early in the Lions innings when he was on 5 runs. Finch went on to score 62 more runs.  They lost McCullum early in 2nd over of the innings. The 53-run stand between Finch and Raina in 42 balls was the highest. At that point, Lions was comfortably placed at 65 for 1 in 8.2 overs. Bravo reviewed decision by TV Umpire whether it is out or not but umpire raises his finger  whether the decision is out. They lost last 6 wickets for 66 runs in the span of 10.2 overs and Mumbai made a comeback. It might Mumbai will win the game. Finch scored a brilliant 67 off 54 balls destroyed the Mumbai bowlers. This was the highest score in this innings. This was third fifty of the season & overall 5th fifty of his IPL career. He was the first player to score 1 or more fifty in this season. Finch hit a winning last-ball four and Lions won in nail-biting finish. It was the first thriller of the season. McClenaghan was the most successful bowler in Lions innings when he took 4 wickets. He was the joint Purple Cap holder with 6 wickets. Lions won the match by 3 wickets. This was Lions 3rd consecutive win in IPL 2016.

Now, Gujarat Lions will take on Sunrisers Hyderbad on April 21. Mumbai Indians will also face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18.

IPL 2015 Final : MI V CSK

Sorry not writing for last 2 days. Yesterday’s match was again an one-sided match. The match was played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first. Although they lost Parthiv Patel early in 1st over of the innings, Mumbai Indians innings had a bad start. Simmons scored a brisk 68 off 45 balls & crushed the Chennai bowling attack. This was the highest score in Mumbai Indians innings. This was Simmons’ 2nd highest score in IPL 2015 behind 71 runs against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali on May 3. Negi dropped Simmons at the middle stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Simmons was on 50 runs. It was a bit costly miss as Simmons went on to score 68 runs. Rohit Sharma scored a huge 50 off 26 balls & destroyed the Chennai bowlers. This was Rohit’s 2nd highest score at this ground in IPL 2015 behind 98 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 8. Mumbai Indians innings was comfortably placed 120 for 1 in 11.5 overs. The 119 run-stand between Simmons & Rohit in 67 balls steadied the Mumbai Indians innings. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. This was 3rd highest partnership for any wicket in IPL final behind 159 runs between Vijay & Michael Hussey  for Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai in 2011  & 129 runs between Saha & Bailey for Kings XI Punjab against Kolkata Knight Riders at Bangalore last year. They lost 2 wickets Rohit Sharma & Simmons in quick succession. Pollard scored a quickfire 36 off 18 balls & hammered the Chennai bowlers. Rayudu scored a brilliant 36 off 24 balls & attacked the Chennai bowlers. Smith dropped Rayudu at the final stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Rayudu was on 28 runs. It was not a costly miss as Rayudu could score only 36 runs. The 71 run-stand between Pollard & Rayudu in 40 balls paced the Mumbai Indians innings. They lost 2 wickets Pollard & Pandya again in quick succession. They started very quick in first 10 overs & also very quick in later overs. Chennai Super Kings bowlers sprayed all over the field throughout the innings. Mumbai Indians innings final total was 202 for 5 in 20 overs. This was 2nd highest total by a team in IPL final behimd 205 runs for Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chennai in 2011.

Although they lost Mike Hussey early in 5th over of the innings, Chennai Super Kings innings had a solid start. Dwayne Smith scored a fine 57 off 48 balls & tried to squeeze the Mumbai bowlers. This was the highest score in Chennai Super Kings innings. Chennai Super Kings innings was comfortably placed at 88 for 1 in 11.4 overs. The 66 run-stand between Smith & Raina in 43 balls increased the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Chennai Super Kings innings. They lost last 7 wickets for 49 runs in the span of 6.4 overs & changed the situation. They started not very quick in first 10 overs & picked up speed in later overs. McClenaghan took 3 wickets for 25 runs & Mumbai won comfortably. Chennai Super Kings innings final total was 161 for 8 in 20 overs. Vinay Kumar bowled the final ball. Mumbai won the match by 41 runs.

With this win Mumbai Indians won the 2nd IPL crown. This was 3rd team to win the IPL twice after Chennai Super Kings & Kolkata Knight Riders.

At another place Zimbabwe innings total was 175 for 3 in 20 overs. Williams went on to score 58 runs. Pakistan innings final total was 176 for 8 in 19.4 overs. Mukhtar Ahmed scored his 2nd consecutive 50. Pakistan won the match by 2 wickets. Pakistan won the series with 2-0 margin.
