Sorry for not writing for last match. Yesterday’s first match was an exciting match. The match was played at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. This was the Punjab’s last match to be played at this ground.

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and chose to bat first. Punjab start was average. The 33-run stand between Vijay and Hashim Amla in 26 balls started very well. They lost Vijay early in 5th over of the innings. Vijay was caught by David Warner off Mustafizur Rahman’s 1st over. Hashim Amla hit a boundary off Nehra’s 2nd ball. Nehra often too many balls in his first 2 overs. Hashim Amla hit a four and six off Karn Sharma’s 1st over. Punjab was comfortably placed at 87 for 1 in 11 overs. The 54-run stand between Hashim Amla and Wriddhiman Saha in 41 balls increased the run-rate. They lost Wriddhiman Saha in first ball of 12th over of the innings. Wriddhiman Saha was caught by Deepak Hooda off Henriques 2nd over. At one stage Punjab will cross the 200-run mark and Punjab was also comfortably placed at 152 for 2 in 17.1 overs. The 65-run stand between Hashim Amla and Gukeerat Singh Mann in 37 balls was the highest. They lost Gukeerat Singh Mann in 18th over of the innings. Gukeerat Singh Mann was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his 3rd over. Nehra suffered a leg injury in his penultimate ball of 3rd over. Ben Cutting bowled the final ball of 19th over after Nehra’s injury. Hashim Amla scored a brilliant 96 off 56 balls and destroyed the Hyderabad bowlers. This was his 1st fifty in IPL career and overall 17th fifty on his T20 career. This was his highest IPL score against his previous highest off 21 runs vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at same ground few days ago. This was his second highest T20 score behind 97 runs for South Africa vs Australia at Cape Town earlier this year. This was the highest score by Punjab batsman in this season against the previous highest off 89 runs by Vijay against Royal Challengers Bangalore also at Mohali. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. They lost Hashim Amla in last over of the innings. Hashim Amla was caught by David Warner off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s final over. Punjab posted a competitive total of 179 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad when he took 2 wickets.

Hyderabad start was good. The 68-run stand between David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan in 48 balls was the highest. This was the third highest 1st wicket partnership for Hyderabad in this season. They lost Shikhar Dhawan in last ball of 8th over of the innings. Shikhar Dhawan was run out by a direct throw by Mohit Sharma. David Warner hit 2 sixes off Mohit Sharma’s 2nd over. This was his 6th fifty of the season and overall 29th fifty of his IPL career. This was the second most fifties by batsman in IPL history behind Gambhir with 30 fifties. This was the highest score by batsman in this innings. They lost David Warner in first ball of 13th over of the innings. David Warner was hit wicket by Axar Patel in his 2nd over. They hit a four and six off Axar Patel’s same over. Yuvraj Singh hit a six off Mohit Sharma’s 3rd over. They scored 10 runs apiece in next 3 overs. Hyderabad was also comfortably placed at 139 for 2 in 15.5 overs and it looked Hyderabad will win the match. Deepak Hooda scored a classy 34 off 22 balls and attacked the Punjab bowling. The 42-run stand between Deepak Hooda and Yuvraj Singh in 23 balls increased the run-rate. They lost Deepak Hooda in last ball of 16th over of the innings. Deepak Hooda was caught by David Miller off Sandeep Sharma’s 3rd over. Yuvraj Singh hit a  six and 2 consecutive fours off Axar Patel’s last over. Ben Cutting hit a six and equation was down to 20 off 12 balls. Maxwell conceded 11 runs in 19th over of the innings. Yuvraj Singh hit a six off Mohit Sharma’s final over. Yuvraj Singh scored a quickfire 42 off 24 balls and smashed the Punjab bowling. The 41-run stand between Yuvraj Singh and Ben Cutting in 22 balls remained unbeaten. Yuvraj Singh took a winning run and Hyderabad won comfortably. Axar Patel and Sandeep Sharma took 1 wicket each for Hyderabad. Hyderabad won the match by 7 wickets. This was Hyderabad’s 8th win in IPL 2016. This win meant Hyderabad became the first team to make it to playoffs. Punjab are the second team to knock out of the IPL 2016 after Pune.

Now, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Delhi Daredevils on May 20. Kings XI Punjab will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 18.

IPL 2016: MI V KXIP

Yesterday’s match was a low-scoring match. The match was played at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bat first. Mumbai start was not good. They lost 2 wickets for 8 runs in the span of 2.5 overs. Mumbai score 21 for 2 in powerplay. This was the lowest powerplay score by team in this season. Nitish Rana hit 3 sixes off Mohit Sharma’s 3rd over. Mumbai was weakly placed at 36 for 2 in 8.4 overs. The 28-run stand between Rohit Sharma and Nitish Rana in 36 balls paced the Mumbai innings. They lost Rohit Sharma in penultimate ball of 9th over of the innings. Rohit Sharma was bowled by Axar Patel in his 2nd over. Nitish Rana scored a classy 25 off 28 balls and also placed the Mumbai innings. Nitish Rana was caught by Wriddhiman Saha off Stoinis 2nd over. Mumbai was also weakly placed at 103 for 5 in 16.3 overs. Pollard scored a quickfire 27 off 20 balls and smashed the Punjab bowling. This was the highest score by batsman in this innings. The 42-run stand between Pollard and Krunal Pandya in 19 balls was the highest and fought back. Pollard was bowled by Stoinis in his last over. They lost last 4 wickets for 11 runs in the span of 2 overs and Punjab also made a comeback. Mumbai was also reduced to 114 for 9 in 18.3 overs. Mumbai posted not a competitive total of 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. This was the second lowest total for Mumbai in this season behind 92 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad also at Visakhapatnam last week. Stoinis was the most successful bowler for Punjab when he took 4 wickets including 2 wickets in 17th over of the innings. This was his best bowling performance in IPL against his previous best off 3 for 20 vs Delhi Daredevils at Mohali last week.

This was his highest score of the season against his previous highest of 52 runs vs Delhi Daredevils at Mohali last week. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. The 116-run stand between Vijay and Wriddhiman Saha in 88 balls was the highest. This was the highest second-wicket partnership for Punjab in this season against their previous highest of 72 runs by same pair vs Gujarat Lions at Rajkot fortnight ago. Wriddhiman Saha was bowled by McClenaghan in his last over. They lost 2 more wickets for 1 run in the span of 2 balls and it look Mumbai will make a comeback. Vijay scored a fine 54 off 52 balls and hammered the Mumbai bowlers. This was his 4th fifty of the season and overall 10th fifty in his IPL career. Vijay hit the winning four and Punjab won comfortably. McClenaghan was the most successful bowler for Mumbai when he took 2 wickets including consecutive  wickets in 16th over of the innings. Punjab won the match by 7 wickets. This was Punjab’s 4th win in IPL 2016. Both teams are chance to make playoff spot if they win remaining matches.

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore start was good. Kohli wafted 2 length deliveries off Mohit Sharma’s 1st over. He went straight to Stoinis backward point. KL Rahul dropped Stoinis in the early stages of the innings when he was on 19 runs. It was a costly miss as he went on to score 23 more runs.  He hit 4 consecutive boundaries and a six off Stoinis 1st over. KL Rahul scored a classy 42 off 25 balls and attacked the Punjab bowling. The 63-run stand between Kohli and KL Rahul in 45 balls started very well. This was the second 50+ first-wicket stand for Bangalore in this season. KL Rahul was bowled by Cariappa in his 1st over. They lost 3 wickets for 4 runs in the span of 1.2 overs and Punjab will make a comeback. Bangalore was reduced to 67 for 3 in 8.4 overs. This was Mumbai’s 3rd win in IPL 2016.

Morkel was caught by Shakib Al Hasan to dismiss Vohra in 4th over of Punjab innings. Punjab was comfortably placed at 47 for 1 in 7.4 overs. The 26-run stand between Vijay and Shaun Marsh in 25 balls was the highest. They lost 3 wickets for 25 runs in the span of 4.3 overs. Punjab was also weakly placed at 94 for 4 in 14.4 overs. The 22-run stand between Shaun Marsh & Maxwell in 16 balls. They lost last 4 wickets for 24 runs in the span of 3.5 overs & Kolkata will make a comeback. The 20-run stand between Shaun Marsh & Kyle Abbott in 9 balls remained unbeaten. Shaun Marsh scored a fine 56 off 41 balls destroyed the Kolkata bowlers. They lost 4 wickets for 41 runs in the span 7.3 overs & Punjab will make a comeback. Gambhir scored a run-a-ball 34 off 34 balls attacked the Punjab bowling. Pradeep Sahu was dismissed by Gambhir & Uthappa to caught by Maxwell & adjudged lbw respectively. Pradeep Sahu playing his 4th competitive game since 2011. Axar Patel was dismissed by Manish Pandey & Shakib Al Hasan to bowled and caught by Sandeep Sharma respectively. He took 2 or more wickets for the first time in last 11 matches. Yusuf Pathan hit one six this season. He is still one short of 200 T20 sixes to become  4th Indian to complete this. Suryakumar Yadav hit the winning four and Kolkata won comfortably. Pradeep Sahu & Axar Patel took 2 wickets each for Punjab in Kolkata innings. Kolkata won the match by 6 wickets. This was Kolkata’s 3rd win in IPL 2016 & go to top of the table. This was also Kolkata’s 6th consecutive win against Punjab.

Yesterday’s first match was an amazing match. The match was played Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

Rising Pune Supergiants won the toss and chose to bat first. Pune was not having a good note. They lost Rahane early in 3rd over of the innings. Pune was comfortably placed at 65 for 1 in 7.5 overs. The 55-run stand between du Plessis and Pietersen in 35 balls was crucial. They lost Pietersen & Thisara Perera in 8th & 11th over of the innings respectively. Steven Smith scored a fine 38 off 26 balls shattered against Punjab bowling. This was his 2nd fifty of the season & overall 4th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score in this innings. They lost last 4 wickets for 13 runs in the span of 2.2 overs. Irfan Pathan was playing his first competitive game since 2014. Pune was a competitive total of 152 for 7 in 20 overs. Mohit Sharma was the most successful bowler for Punjab when he took 3 wickets.

Punjab was having a good note. Vohra scored a huge 51 off 33 balls hammered the Pune bowlers. This was his 1st fifty of the season & overall 2nd fifty of his IPL career and first since 2014 final. The 97-run stand between Vijay and Vohra in 74 balls was the highest. This was the first 50+ partnership for 1st wicket since 2014. Vijay scored a classy 53 off 49 balls crushed against Pune bowlers. This was his 1st fifty of the season & overall overall 6th fifty of his IPL career & first since 2013. This was the highest score in this innings. They lost 4 wickets for 22 runs in the span of 4.1 overs & Pune will make a comeback. Ishant Sharma dropped Maxwell in final stages of the innings when he was on 28 runs. ?Maxwell scored a gigantic 32 off 14 balls. Maxwell hit the winning four and Punjab won comfortably. Murugan Ashwin was the most successful bowler when he took 3 wickets. Punjab won the match by 6 wickets. This was Punjab’s 1st win in IPL 2016.

Now, Kings XI Punjab will face Kolkata Knight Riders on April 19. Rising Pune Supergiants will also take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 22.

Sorry for not writing last 3 days. Yesterday’s match was an thrilling match. The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bat first. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings had a good start. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings was boom boom at 56 for 0 in 6 overs. The 56 run-stand between Dhawan & Warner in 37 balls tried to pace Sunrisers Hyderabad innings. They lost Dhawan in 7th over of the innings. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings was comfortably placed 121 for 1 in 13.3 overs. The 65 run-stand between Warner & Henriques in 45 balls increased the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Sunrisers Hyderabad innings. Henriques scored a fine 28 off 24 balls & tried to attack the Punjab bowlers. Warner scored a brisk 81 off 52 balls & crushed the Punjab bowling attack. This was the highest score in Hyderabad innings. This was Warner’s 2nd highest score in IPL 2015 till yesterday behind 91 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Viskhapatnam on April 22. They lost last  4 wickets for  36 runs in the span of 3.5 overs &  changed the situation after that. Kings XI Punjab bowlers sprayed all over the field throughout the innings. They started very quick in first 10 overs & also very quick in later overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings final total was 185 for 5 in 20 overs. This was Hyderabad’s 3rd highest total in IPL behind 205 runs against Kings XI Punjab at Hyderabad last season, 201 runs against Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai(BS) earlier this season.

Kings XI Punjab innings also had a good start. The 42 run-stand between Vijay & Vohra in 29 balls was not very important. They lost 6 wickets for 57 runs in the span of 8.3 overs & also changed the situation after that. With the departure of six Kings XI Punjab batsmen Kings XI Punjab innings was reduced to 99 for 6 in 14.1 overs. Miller scored a huge 89 off 44 balls & hammered the Hyderabad bowlers. This was the highest score in Punjab innings. This was Miller’s 2nd highest score of his IPL career behind 101 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mohali in 2013. The 59 run-stand between Miller & Axar Patel in 29 balls stabilized the Kings XI Punjab innings fightback. This was the highest partnership in Kings XI Punjab innings. They lost Axar Patel in 19th over of the innings. Henriques took 3 wickets for 16 runs & Hyderabad won comfortably. KXIP nedd 39 off last 2 overs & it will look a tight match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a gem &  conceded only 11 runs & a wicket in 19th over  of the innings. KXIP need 28 in last over of the innings. Ishant Sharma conceded 22 runs in final over of the innings.  Kings XI Punjab innings final total was 180 for 7 in 20 overs. Ishant Sharma bowled the winning ball. Hyderabad won the match by 5 runs. This was Hyderabad’s 3rd consecutive win & happened 1st time in IPL 2015.

Now, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Royal Challengers Bangalore also at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on 15th May. Kings XI Punjab will  also face Royal Challengers Bangalore at PCA Stadium on 13th May.

At another place Mark Craig took 5 wicket haul in Somerset 2nd innings. New Zealand begin the tour with the win. Mark Craig was declared man of the match for bowling performance.

Anureet Singh & Axar Patel dropped Ojha at the middle stages of Sunrisers Hyderabad innings when Ojha was on 19 & 20 runs. It was not a costly miss as Ojha could score only 28 runs. Kings XI Punjab innings had a bad start. They lost 2 wickets Vohra & Shaun Marsh early in quick succession. The 32 run-stand between Vijay & Bailey in 26 balls was not crucial. They lost 3 wickets for 27 runs in the span of 5 overs, With the departure of top five Kings XI Punjab batsmen Kings XI Punjab innings was reduced to 72 for 5 in 12.2 overs. Kings XI Punjab innings was weakly placed at 116 for 5 in 17 overs. The 45 run-stand between Saha & Axar Patel in 29 balls tried to stabilize the Kings XI Punjab innings. This was the highest partnership in Kings XI Punjab innings. Saha scored a brilliant 42 off 33 balls & tried to attack the Hyderabad bowlers. This was Saha’s highest score in IPL 2015 till yesterday beating 37 runs against Rajasthan Royals at Ahmedabad on April 21. Boult took 3 wickets for 19 runs & Hyderabad won comfortably. Praveen Kumar bowled a winning ball. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by 20 runs. This was Hyderabad’s 3rd win in IPL 2015.

This was the highest partnership in Chennai Super Kings innings. This was 2nd consecutive 50+ partnership for Chennai Super Kings innings & happened 2nd time in IPL 2015. Kings XI Punjab innings final total was 95 for 9 in 20 overs. Mohit Sharma bowled the winning ball & Chennai won comfortably. This was lowest total by a team in IPL 2015 till yesterday beating 101 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Vizag on Wednesday. Chennai Super Kings won the match by 97 runs. This was Chennai’s biggest win in terms of runs in IPL beating 93 runs against Delhi Daredevils at Abu Dhabi last year. This was Chennai’s 5th consecutive victory at this ground in IPL since 2013.

Now, Chennai Super Kings will face Kolkata Knight Riders also at MA Chidamabaram Stadium on 28th April. Kings XI Punjab will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at PCA Stadium on 27th April.
