Sorry for not writing yesterday. Yesterday’s match was again a thrilling match. The match was played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai Indians innings had a solid start. Umesh Yadav dropped Parthiv Patel at very early stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Parthiv was on 17 runs. It was not a costly miss as Parthiv could score only 21 runs. They lost 3 wickets for 47 runs in the span of 6.3 overs. With the departure of three Mumbai Indians batsmen Mumbai Indians innings was reduced to 47 for 3 in 6.3 overs. Rohit Sharma scored a brisk 30 off 21 balls & tried to attack the Kolkata bowlers. The 32 run-stand between Rohit & Pollard in 31 balls tried to steady the Mumbai Indians innings. Pollard scored a fine 33 off 38 balls & tried to crush the Kolkata bowling attack. The 92 run-stand between Pollard & Pandya in 50 balls increased the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. This was highest 4th wicket partnership for Mumbai Indians beating 84 runs between Tendulkar & Rayudu against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur in 2010. Pandya scored a quickfore 61 off 31 balls & destroyed the Kolkata bowlers. This was the highest score in Mumbai Indians innings. This was Pandya’s highest score of his IPL career beating 47 runs against Chennai Super Kings at Chennai this season. They started not very quick in first 10 overs & picked up speed in later overs. Shakib bowled a lethal spell & took 2 crucial wickets in the innings. Mumbai Indians innings final total was 171 for 4 in 20 overs. This was Mumbai’s 2nd highest total at this ground in IPL 2015 till yesterday behind 184 runs against Chennai Super Kings on April 17.

Kolkata Knight Riders innings had a good start. The 45 run-stand between Uthappa & Gambhir in 33 balls tried to pace the Kolkata Knight Riders innings. This was the highest partnership in Kolkata Knight Riders innings. They lost 2 wickets Uthappa & Pandey early in quick succession. Gambhir scored a brilliant 38 off 29 balls & tried to squeeze the Mumbai bowlers. Kolkata Knight Riders innings was comfortably placed 88 for 1 in 10.5 overs. The 42 run-stand between Gambhir & Yusuf Pathan in 31 balls was much responsible for Kolkata Knight Riders innings. The 30 run-stand between Yusuf Pathan & Shakib in 20 balls was not very important. This was two 40+ partnership in the innings & happened 3rd time in IPL history. They lost 4 wickets for 42 runs in the span of 5 overs & changed the situation. Yusuf Pathan scored a huge 52 off 37 balls & hammered the Mumbai bowlers. This was the highest score in Kolkata Knight Riders innings. This was Yusuf’s highest score in IPL 2015 till yesterday beating 45 runs against Delhi Daredevils at Kolkata on May 7. They started not very quick in first 10 overs & picked up speed in later overs. Pollard took a wicket to Yusuf Pathan in final over of the innings & Mumbai won comfortably. Kolkata Knight Riders innings final total was 166 for 7 in 20 overs. 21 needed off 2 overs Malinga conceded only 9 runs in 19th over. 12 needed in last over & also changed the situation. Pollard conceded only 6 runs & a wicket in last over of the innings. Pollard bowled the final ball. Mumbai won the match by 5 runs. This was Mumbai’s 7th win in IPL 2015.

Now, Mumbai Indians will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on 17th May. Kolkata Knight Riders will face Rajasthan Royals at Brabourne Stadium on 16th May.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai Indians innings had a good start. Samson dropped Simmons at the early stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Simmons was on 0 runs. It was a costly miss as Simmons went on to score 38 runs. The 43 run-stand between Simmons & Parthiv Patel in 29 balls tried to pace the Rajasthan bowlers. They lost Parthiv Patel early in 5th over of the innings. Simmons scored a brisk 38 off 31 balls & tried to batter the Rajasthan bowlers. Mumbai Indians innings was quickly at 73 for 1 in 9 overs. The 30 run-stand between Simmons & Chand in 26 balls was not very important. They lost 2 wickets Simmons & Chand in quick succession. The 36 run-stand between Rohit Sharma & Rayudu in 25 balls was much responsible for Mumbai Indians innings. They lost Rohit Sharma in 15th over of the innings. Rayudu scored a huge 53 off 27 balls & attacked the Rajasthan bowlers. This was the highest score in Mumbai Indians innings. This was Rayudu’s highest score in IPL 2015 till day before yesterday beating 37 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad also at Mumbai on April 25. Mumbai Indians innings was comfortably placed at 181 for 4 in 19.3 overs. The 61 run-stand between Rayudu & Pollard in 29 balls increased the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. This was four 30+ partnership in five wickets in the innings & happened 4th time in IPL history. They lost Pollard in 20th over of the innings. They started quick in first 10 overs & were very quick in later overs. Rajasthan Royals bowlers were wayward & indisciplined in last 4 over of  the innings. They gave away 61 runs at the rate of 15 runs per over. It was too much. Mumbai Indians innings final total was 187 for 5 in 20 overs. This was Mumbai’s 2nd highest total in IPL 2015 till  day before yesterday behind 209 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bangalore on April 19.

Rajasthan Royals innings also had a good start. Suchith dropped Rahane at the very early stages of Rajasthan Royals innings when Rahane was on 6 runs. It was a bit costly miss as Rahane went on to score 16 runs. The 30 run-stand between Rahane & Watson in 19 balls was not crucial. They lost Rahane early in 4th over of the innings. Rajasthan Royals innings was boom boom at 71 for 1 in 8 overs. The 41 run-stand between Watson & Samson in 30 balls tried to crush Mumbai bowlers. They  lost Watson in 9th over of the innings. Parthiv appealed for a caught behind for Samson in Rajasthan Royals innings but the appeal was turned down & Samson survived. Rajasthan Royals innings was comfortably placed at 127 for 2 in 14.5 overs. The 56 run-stand between Samson & Steven Smith in 41 balls was too much responsible for Rajasthan Royals innings. This was the highest partnership in Rajasthan Royals innings. They lost Steven Smith in 15th over of the innings. Samson scored a brilliant 76 off 46 balls & hammered the Mumbai bowlers. This was the highest score in Rajasthan innings. This was Samson’s highest score of his IPL career beating 74 runs also against Mumbai Indians also at Mumbai last year. The 34 run-stand between Samson & Nair in 16 balls was very important. They lost last 4 wickets for 16 runs in the span of 2.1 overs & the situation changed. They started very quick in first 10 overs & also very quick in later overs. McClenaghan took 3 wickets for 31 runs & Mumbai won comfortably. Rajasthan Royals innings final total was 179 for 7 in 20 overs. Vinay Kumar bowled the winning ball. This was Rajasthan’s 2nd highest total against Mumbai Indians at this ground behind 189 runs in 2014. Mumbai won the match by 8 runs. This was Mumbai’s 2nd consecutive win & happened first time in IPL 2015.

Now, Mumbai Indians will face Kings XI Punjab at PCA Stadium on 3rd May. Rajasthan Royals will face Delhi Daredevils at Brabourne Stadium also on 3rd May.

At another front Bangladesh gave a solid reply to Pakistan’s mammoth total of 628 runs. Tamim Iqbal & Imrul Kayes created a 300+ run opening pair partnership which is a record for Bangladesh. Iqbal went on to score 206 runs. The second Bangladeshi to score a double-ton in Test history after Mohammad Ashraful. Bangladesh drew the test against Pakistan  for the first time in Test history. Bravo Bangladesh.

This was the highest score in Mumbai Indians innings. This was Simmons 2nd highest score in IPL 2015 till today behind 59 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bangalore on Sunday. Boult dropped Simmons at the middle stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Simmons was on 47 runs. It was not a costly miss as Simmons could score only 51 runs. Mumbai Indians innings was comfortably placed at 100 for 2 in 12.2 overs. The 51 run-stand between Lendl Simmons & Rohit Sharma in 33 balls tried to increase the run-rate. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. Pollard scored a huge 33 off 24 balls & tried to batter the Hyderabad bowlers. This was the highest partnership in Sunrisers Hyderabad innings. Shikhar Dhawan scored a quickfire 42 off 29 balls & tried to hammer the Mumbai bowlers. This was the highest score in Sunrisers Hyderabad innings. This was Dhawan’s 2nd highest score in IPL 2015 till today behind 50 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bangalore on April 13. They lost 3 wickets for 23 runs in the span of 3.5 overs. With the departure of three Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen Sunrisers Hyderabad innings was reduced to 68 for 3 in 8.4 overs. Rohit Sharma dropped Rahul at the middle stages of Sunrisers Hyderabad innings when Rahul was on 10 runs. It was a bit costly miss as Rahul went on to score 25 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings was steady at 104 for 3 in 14.4 overs. They lost last 5 wickets for 23 runs in the span of 4 overs & the situation also changed after that. With the departure of five Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen Sunrisers Hyderabad innings was also reduced to 127 for 8 in 18.4 overs. They started not very quick in first 10 overs & also not very quick in later overs.at one stage SRH required 44 of 24 balls with 6 wickets in hand. it looked that it will be a tight finish. Then came Malinga. In 19th over Malinga took 3 wickets in 4 balls & conceded only 1 run. At the end of 19th over Sunrisers Hyderabad were at 128 for 8. and the match became one sided.  Malinga took 4 wickets for 23 runs & Mumbai won comfortably. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings final total was 137 for 8 in 20 overs. This was Hyderabad’s 2nd lowest total in IPL 2015 till today behind 127 runs against Rajasthan Royals at Vizag on April 16. Vinay Kumar bowled a winning ball. Mumbai Indians won the match by 20 runs. This was Mumbai’s 2nd win in last 3 matches of IPL 2015.

Now, Mumbai Indians will face Rajasthan Royals also at Wankhede Stadium on 1st May. Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Kings XI Punjab at PCA Stadium on 27th April.

This was the highest partnership in Delhi Daredevils innings. This was Delhi’s highest 2nd wicket partnership in IPL history beating 140 runs between David Warner & Naman Ojha against Deccan Chargers at Hyderabad in 2012. Duminy scored a huge 78 off 50 balls & battered the Mumbai bowlers. This was Duminy’s highest score of his IPL career beating 74 runs for Deccan Chargers against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Hyderabad in 2012. They had broke the jinx of nine consecutive losses at this ground.

Rajasthan Royals had a solid start. They lost Samson early in 5th over of the innings. Rahane scored a quickfire 46 off 39 balls & tried to steady the Rajasthan Royals innings. Chand dropped Rahane at the very middle stages of Rajasthan Royals innings when Rahane was on 40. It was not a costly miss as Rahane could score only 46 runs. Rajasthan Royals was comfortably placed 92 for 1 in 13 overs. The 64 run-stand between Rahane & Steven Smith in 52 balls was much responsible for Rajasthan Royals innings & it looked Rajasthan will win comfortably. This was the highest partnership in Rajasthan Royals innings. They lost 2 wickets Rahane & Hooda in quick succession. Steven Smith scored a fine 79 off 53 balls & attacked the Mumbai bowlers. This was Smith’s highest score in T20 cricket beating 65 for Sydney Sixers against Perth Scorchers in 2014. This was Smith’s also highest score by Rajasthan Royals captain in IPL beating Rahul Dravid’s 65 against Delhi Daredevils in 2013. This was the highest score in Rajasthan innings. The 52 run-stand between Steven Smith & Faulkner in 26 balls was crucial. Mumbai Indians bowlers sprayed all over the field throughout the innings. Rajasthan Royals final total was 165 for 3 in 19.1 overs. Faulkner hit the winning run & Rajasthan won comfortably. This was the highest 2nd innings total by a team at this ground beating 160 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders against Rajasthan Royals in 2014. Both the times failed to successful run-chase at this ground. Rajasthan Royals won the match by 7 wickets. Rajasthan’s consecutive wins in first 3 matches of IPL & happened first time in IPL history.

Yesterday’s second match was a classic match. The match was played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Sehwag scored a brisk 36 off 19 balls & crushed the Mumbai bowling attack. They lost 3 early wickets for 28 runs in the span of 3.5 overs. Kings XI Punjab innings was also comfortably placed 134 for 3 in 15.2 overs. The 46 run-stand between Miller & Bailey in 31 balls tried to steady the Kings XI Punjab innings. Mumbai Indians innings was reduced to 59 for 6 in 13.4 overs. Johnson bowled a lethal spell & took 2 crucial wickets in the innings. They started slowly & the scoreboard is kept moving. Mumbai Indians innings was weakly placed 159 for 6 in 19.4 overs. The 100 run-stand between Harbhajan Singh & Suchith in 37 balls increased the run-rate & it looked Mumbai will win comfortably. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. This was the quickest 100 run partnership in the innings & happened first time in IPL history. This was the highest 7th wicket partnership in IPL history beating 55 runs beating Harbhajan Singh & Nechim against Chennai Super Kings in 2010. Harbhajan Singh scored a quickfire 64 off 24 balls & attacked the Punjab bowlers. This was the highest score in Mumbai innings. This was Harbhajan’s highest score of his IPL career beating 49 against Deccan Chargers in 2010. This was fastest fifty by a Mumbai Indians batsman beating Pollard 20-ball fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. They lost Harbhajan Singh in last over of the innings. Kings XI Punjab bowlers bowled very well & bowled death in later overs. Mumbai Indians innings final total was 159 for 7 in 20 overs. Anureet Singh bowled a final ball & Punjab won comfortably. Kings XI Punjab won the match by 18 runs. This was Punjab’s 4th win at this ground. This was Mumbai’s consecutive loss in first 2 matches of IPL for 2nd time in succession.

Sorry for not writing yesterday. It was an exciting match. The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians was played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 8th April 2015.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai Indians innings had a very bad start. They lost 3 early wickets for 37 runs in the span of 5.2 overs. Mumbai Indians was reduced to 37 for 3 in 5.2 overs. Rohit scored a brisk 98 off 65  & crushed the Kolkata bowling attack. This was the highest score in the innings. He missed the 2nd IPL century by 2 runs. This was Rohit’s 22nd fifty in IPL career. This was Rohit’s 2nd highest score in IPL career.  This was 2nd highest score by a batsman in opening IPL matches.  They started slowly & the scoreboard is kept moving. Russell dropped Anderson a sitter at early stages & Uthappa dropped Rohit at middle stages of their respective innings when Anderson was on 24 & Rohit was on 70. It was a costly miss when Anderson could score only 55 runs. It was not a costly miss when Rohit could score only 98 runs. Morne dropped Anderson at a very middle stages of Mumbai Indians innings when Anderson was also on 48. It was also not a costly miss when Anderson could also score only 55 runs.  The unbroken 131 run-stand between Rohit & Anderson & increased the run-rate & build the innings. This was the highest partnership in Mumbai Indians innings. This was the 2nd highest 3rd wicket partnership in IPL matches. Anderson score a huge 55 off 41 & destroyed the Kolkata bowlers. This was Anderson’s 2nd highest score in IPL career. Morne Morkel bowled a lethal spell & took 2 crucial wickets in an innings. Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers bowled very well & bowled fire in death overs. Mumbai Indians final total was 18 for 3 in 20 overs. This was Mumbai Indians second highest total at Eden Gardens.

Kolkata Knight Riders had a respectable start. Tare dropped Gambhir at a very early stages of Kolkata Knight Riders innings when Gambhir was on 1. It was a costly miss when Gambhir could score only 57 runs. They lost Uthappa  early in 3rd over of the innings. Anderson dropped Pandey at early stages of Kolkata Knight Riders innings when Pandey was on 29. It was not a costly miss as Pandey could score only 40 runs. The 85 run-stand between Gambhir & Pandey was crucial. This was the highest partnership in Kolkata Knight Riders innings. Harbhajan dropped Gambhir at a middle stages of Kolkata Knight Riders innings when Gambhir was on 51. It was not a costly miss as Gambhir could also score only 57 runs. Gambhir scored a classy 57 off 43 & attacked the Mumbai bowlers. Pandey scored 40 off 24 , Yadav scored 46 off 20 & both of them were hammered the Mumbai bowlers. The unbroken 49 run-stand between Yadav & Pathan was too much responsible for Kolkata Knight Riders innings. Kolkata Knight Riders final total was 170 for 3 in 18.3 overs. This was Kolkata’s highest successful run chase at Eden Gardens in IPL matches. Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 7 wickets. This was Kolkata’s 10th consecutive win in IPL matches. This was Kolkata’s 1st win in IPL 2015.

Now, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens on Saturday 11th April. Mumbai Indians will face Kings XI Punjab at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday 12th April.
