Yesterday’s match was an interesting match. The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. This was Hyderabad’s last home match of the season followed by 3 back-to-back away games.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and chose to bowl first. Hyderabad start was good. Jayant Yadav gave the ball plenty of air in 3 powerplay overs. Warner hit 2 fours off Jayant Yadav’s 2nd over. Warner scored a fine 46 off 30 balls and destroyed the Delhi bowling. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. The 67-run stand between Warner and Shikhar Dhawan in 53 balls was the highest. They lost Warner in penultimate ball of 19th over of the innings. Warner was bowled by Jayant Yadav in his 2nd over. Amit Mishra introduced the attack in 11th over of the innings. Hyderabad was comfortably placed at 98 for 1 in 12.5 overs and it looked Hyderabad will cross 150-run mark. Shikhar Dhawan scored a classy 34 off 37 balls and paced the Hyderabad innings. The 31-run stand between Shikhar Dhawan and Williamson in 25 balls increased the run-rate. Shikhar Dhawan was caught by Sanju Samson off Amit Mishra’s 2nd over. They lost 3 more wickets for 16 runs in the span of 2.3 overs and Delhi made a comeback. Hyderabad was reduced to 114 for 4 in 15.2 overs. Hyderabad was also comfortably placed at 135 for 4 in 17.4 overs and it also looked Hyderabad will also cross 150-run mark. Williamson was bowled by Chris Morris in his last over. It was a turning point as they lost last 4 wickets for 8 runs in the span of 2.1 overs including 2 wickets in 19th over of the innings and Delhi also made a comeback. Hyderabad was also reduced to 143 for 8 in 19.5 overs. Nehra was caught and bowled by Coulter-Nile in his final over but umpire signaled as no-ball. Hyderabad posted not a competitive total of 146 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Hyderabad scored 48 runs in the last 7 overs. This was the third lowest total for Hyderabad at this ground in this season behind 118 runs against Rising Pune Supergiants and 142 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. Amit Mishra and Coulter-Nile took 2 wickets each for Delhi.

Delhi start was not good. Mayank Agarwal began brightly with mid-on four. They lost Mayank Agarwal early in first ball of 4th over of the innings. Mayank Agarwal was caught by Yuvraj Singh off Nehra’s 2nd over. de Kock looked in deep control when he was out caught behind and umpire after a prolonged appeal but signaled as not out. de Kock’s helmet fell down the ground as he completed the stroke, the Ultra Edge no bat was allowed. de Kock hit 2 consecutive fours off Nehra’s same over. He cutting the four off Mustafizur Rahman’s 1st over. Delhi closed powerplay at 50 for 1 in 6 overs. Delhi was comfortably placed at 75 for 1 in 9.1 overs and it looked Delhi will win the match. The 55-run stand between de Kock and Karun Nair in 37 balls increased the run-rate. de Kock scored a brilliant 44 off 31 balls and hammered the Hyderabad bowling. This was his fourth highest score in chases in this season. Four of his five highest score in chases in IPL career but all of them are winning. de Kock was caught by Naman Ojha off Henriques’s 1st over. They lost 2 more wickets for 3 runs in the span of 4 balls and it looked Hyderabad will make a comeback. Delhi was reduced to 78 for 3 in 9.5 overs. Rishabh Pant hit a six and four off Mustafizur Rahman’s 2nd over.  Samson hit a boundary off Mustafizur Rahman’s next over. Rishabh Pant scored quickfire 39 off 26 balls and attacked the Hyderabad bowling. Samson scored a gutsy 34 off 26 balls and smashed the Hyderabad bowling. Rishabh Pant plundered 26 runs from Mustafizur Rahman in 13 balls. The 72-run stand between Samson and Rishabh Pant in 50 balls was the highest and remained unbeaten. This was the 4th wicket partnership for Delhi in this season. Samson hit the winning six and Delhi won comfortably. Henriques was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad when he took 2 wickets including in 10th over of the innings.  Delhi won the match by 7 wickets. This was Delhi’s 6th win in IPL 2016. This was Hyderabad’s 1st loss after 4 consecutive wins.

Now, Delhi Daredevils will face Mumbai Indians on May 15. Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Kings XI Punjab also on May 15.

Yesterday’s match was a low-scoring match. The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bowl first. Lions start was not good. Hyderabad bowled consecutive maidens for the first time in IPL history. Lions lost Dwayne Smith early in 3rd over of the innings. Dwayne Smith was caught by Mustafizur Rahman off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 2nd over. Raina hit a flicked six off Nehra’s 2nd over. Raina scored a quickfire 20 off 10 balls and paced the Lions innings. Raina was caught and bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s in his 3rd over. Brendon McCullum was dropped by Dhawan’s juggling in early stages of the innings when he was on 4 runs. It was not a costly miss as he went on to score only 3 more runs. They lost 3 more wickets for 10 runs in the span of 2.5 overs and Hyderabad made a comeback. Lions was reduced to 34 for 4 in 7.4 overs. Lions was weakly placed at 79 for 4 in 14 overs. The 45-run stand between Aaron Finch and Dwayne Bravo in 39 was the highest and made some recovery. They lost Dwayne Bravo in first ball of 15th over of the innings. Dwayne Bravo was caught by substitute Vijay Shankar off Sran’s 2nd over. Warner dropped a sitter of Aaron Finch in middle stages of the innings when he was on 30 runs. It was a costly miss as he went on to score 21 more runs. He hit a six off Mustafizur Rahman’s 3rd over. The 27-run stand between Aaron Finch and Ravindra Jadeja in 24 balls was a fight back. They lost Ravindra Jadeja in first ball of 19th over of the innings. Ravindra Jadeja was caught by Buvneshwar Kumar off Mustafizur Rahman’s last over. Aaron Finch scored a fine 51 off 42 balls and destroyed the Hyderabad bowlers. This was his 4th fifty of the season and overall 8th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. Hyderabad bowlers conceded 35 runs in last 4 overs. Lions posted not a competitive total of 126 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets each for Hyderabad.

Hyderabad won the match by 5 wickets. This was Hyderabad’s 5th win in IPL 2016. This was Lions 3 consecutive losses for the first time.

Yesterday’s match was a high-scoring match. The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad. The match was delayed due to rain by an hour. The match started at 9pm local time.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and chose to bowl first. Hyderabad start was not good. They lost Dhawan in 4th over of the innings. Dhawan was caught and bowled by Kane Richardson in his 2nd over. Harshal Patel conceded 16 runs in 6th over of the innings. Williamson hit the first boundary in 12 balls off Parvez Rasool’s bowling. He hit 2 successive fours in consecutive overs and run-rate is 8.50. Warner hit a powerful shot off Kane Richardson’s 3rd over in 15th over of the innings and the run-rate goes past to 9. Hyderabad was comfortably placed at 152 for 1 in 15.4 overs. Warner scored a fine 92 off 50 balls and destroyed the Bangalore bowlers. This was his 5th fifty of the season and overall 28th fifty of his IPL career. He has the second most fifties by batsman in IPL behind Gambhir’s 29 fifties. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. This was the highest score by batsman for Hyderabad in IPL matches but previous highest was 91 runs also by Warner against Kolkata Knight Riders at Viskhapatnam last year. Top four highest scores held by Warner which comes in 90s for Hyderabad in IPL matches. The 124-run stand between Warner and Williamson in 73 balls was the highest. This was the second highest second wicket partnership by team in this season behind 157 runs between Gayle and Kohli in their previous encounter at Bengaluru. Warner was caught by AB de Villiers of Shamsi’s bowling. Williamson scored a classy 50 off 38 balls and attacked the Bangalore bowlers. This was his 1st fifty of his IPL career and  overall 17th fifty in his T20 career. This was his highest score in his IPL career but previous best was 36 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Viskhapatnam last year. Williamson was caught by KL Rahul off Shane Watson’s bowling.  They lost 3 wickets for 9 runs in the span of 1.4 overs and Bangalore made a comeback. They lost Deepak Hooda in first ball of last over of the innings. Deepak Hooda was run out by a direct throw by Kane Richardson and KL Rahul. Henriques scored a quickfire 31 off 14 balls and smashed Bangalore bowling. Hyderabad posted a competitive total of 194 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. This was the highest total for Hyderabad in this season but previous highest was 182 runs also against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru. Kane Richardson was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 2 wickets.

Bangalore start was average. The 42-run stand between Kohli and KL Rahul in 32 balls was highest. They lost Kohli in 2nd ball of 6th over of the innings. Kohli was caught by Ashish Reddy off Mustafizur Rahman’s 1st over. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 83 for 1 in 9.5 overs. KL Rahul scored a brilliant 51 off 28 balls and hammered the Hyderabad bowlers. This was his 1st fifty in his IPL career and overall 4th fifty in his T20 career. The 41-run stand between KL Rahul and AB de Villiers in 28 balls fought back. KL Rahul was caught by Naman Ojha off Henriques 1st over. Watson was run out by a direct throw by Sran. It was not a costly miss as he went on to score 2 more runs. Bangalore was also comfortably placed at 129 for 3 in 14.3 overs and it looked Bangalore will win the match. de Villiers scored a brutal 47 off 32 balls shattered Hyderabad bowling. The 39-run stand between de Villiers and Sachin Baby in 28 balls increased the run-rate. de Villiers was caught by Williamson off Sran’s 3rd over. They lost 2 more wickets again for 23 runs in the span of 2.4 overs. They lost Parvez Rasool in last ball of the innings. Pravez Rasool was caught by Henriques off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s last over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the last wicket and Hyderabad won comfortably. All bowlers took 1 wicket each for Hyderabad. Hyderabad won the match by 15 runs. This was Hyderabad’s 4th win in IPL 2016.

Rising Pune Supergiants won the toss and chose to bowl first. Hyderabad start was a very bad. They lost Warner early in 4th ball of the innings. Warner was caught by Rahane of Dinda’s first over. The 26-run stand between Dhawan and Tare in 26 balls run-rate was slow. They lost 4 more wickets for 6 runs in the span of 3.2 overs. Hyderabad was reduced to 32 for 5 in 8.1 overs. Hyderabad hit a first boundary by Dhawan since 5th over of the innings. Dhawan was dropped by Rahane in middle stages of the innings when he was on 43 runs. It was not a costly miss as he wen on to score 13 more runs.  Hyderabad was weakly placed at 79 for 5 in 16.3 overs. The 47-run stand between Dhawan and Naman Ojha in 51 balls was the highest. Naman Ojha was bowled by Dinda. They lost 3 wickets for 36 runs in the span of 3.1 overs. Hyderabad was also reduced to 115 for 8 in 19.4 overs. Pune start was a worst. They lost Rahane early in 5th ball of the innings. Rahane was caught by Morgan of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s first over. Steven Smith was hit by Naman Ojha at almost chest level of Mustafizur Rahman’s bowling when he was on 24 runs. Pune was comfortably placed at 80 for 1 in 9 overs and it looked Pune will win the match. du Plessis scored a classy 30 off 21 balls against Hyderabad bowling. The 80-run stand between du Plessis and Steven Smith in 50 balls was the highest.  Steven Smith scored a brilliant 46 off 36 balls remained unbeaten. This was the highest score by batsman in this innings. They lost 2 more wickets for  14 runs in the span of 2 overs. Dhoni was caught by Tare of Nehra’s 3rd over when the rain had arrived. The rain continues as per D/L score. Pune won the match by 34 runs via D/L method. This was Pune’s 2nd win in IPL 2016.

Yesterday’s match was an one-sided match. The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai was not having a good note. They lost 4 wickets for 60 runs in the span of 10.4 overs. Mumbai was weakly placed at 123 for 4 in 17 overs. The 63-run stand between Rayudu & Krunal Pandya in 39 balls was the highest. Rayudu scored a fine 54 off 49 balls shattered against Hyderabad bowling. This was his 1st fifty of the season & overall 13th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score in this innings. The Pandyas brothers take the center stage for the first time in IPL history. They lost Rayudu & Hardik Pandya in 18th & 19th over of the innings respectively. Sran caught by Henriques to dismiss Rayudu in 18th over of Mumbai innings. Mustafizur Rahman bowled by Hardik Pandya in 19th over of Mumbai innings. Krunal Pandya scored a brilliant 49 off 28 balls destroyed the Hyderabad bowlers. He was just 1 short of 1st ever fifty in his second IPL game. Mumbai was not a competitive total of 142 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Sran was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad when he took 3 wickets.

Hyderabad was also not having a good note. They lost Dhawan early in 1st over of the innings. Southee bowled by Dhawan early in 1st over of Hyderabad innings. Dhawan poor form continues since the World T20. Hyderabad was comfortably placed at 66 for 1 in 10 overs. The 62-run stand between Warner & Henriques in 56 balls was the highest. They lost Henriques in 11th over of the innings. Southee caught by Parthiv Patel to dismiss Henriques in 11th over of Hyderabad innings. Hyderabad was also kept placed at 100 for 2 in 14.1 overs. The 34-run stand between Warner and Morgan in 25 balls. They lost Morgan in 15th over of the innings. Southee was also caught by Hardik Pandya to dismiss Morgan in 15th over of Hyderabad innings. This was his 2nd fifty of the season & overall 20th fifty of his IPL career. This was the second highest score by Hyderabad batsmen behind 91 runs also held by Warner against Kolkata at Visakhapatnam last year. This was the highest score in the innings. Warner hit the winning six and Hyderabad won comfortably. Hyderabad was a respective total of 145 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Hyderabad won the match by 7 wickets. Southee was the most successful bowler for Mumbai when he took 3 wickets. This was Hyderabad’s 1st win in IPL 2016.

IPL 2016: SRH V KKR

Hi! I am back. I was busy with my exams. Missed opening ceremony & initial 7 matches. I promise now onwards I will give you daily updates of IPL matches.

Yesterday’s first match was one-sided match. The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bat first. Sunrisers Hyderabad innings started not on a good note. They lost 4 wickets for 50 runs in 9.4 overs. The 67-run stand between Morgan and Naman Ojha in 47 balls was crucial. Morgan scored a fine 51 off 43 balls.This was his first fifty of the season and overall 4th fifty in his IPL career. Naman Ojha scored a quick 37 off 28 balls. At that point, Sunrisers were  at 117 for 4 in 17.2 overs. They lost 3 quick wickets for 24 runs in span of 2.3 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a not so competitive total of 142 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Umesh Yadav was the most successful bowler for Kolkata when he took 3 wickets for 28 runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders  had a solid start. The 92 run-stand between Uthappa & Gambhir in 74 balls was excellent & looked Kolkata will win easily. Uthappa scored a classy 38 off 34 balls. He was adjudged LBW to Ashish Reddy. Russel was promoted to number 3 spot but failed to do much. We was grounded by a beautiful yorker by Mustafizur Rahman. KKR lost 2  quick wickets for 5 runs in the span of 1.2 overs. it looked SRH will make a comeback but Gambhir has some other idea. Gambhir scored a brilliant 90 off 60 balls and hammered the Hyderabad bowlers all around the park. This was his second fifty of the season and overall 28th fifty in his IPL career. But still looking for his 1st hundred in IPL or Twenty20. This was Gambhir’s second highest score in his IPL behind 93 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kolkata in 2012. The 49-run stand in 28 balls between Gambhir and Manish Pandey sealed the fate of the game.  Both remained unbeaten. Gambhir hit the winning four & Kolkata won comfortably. SRH bowling was ordinary and only Mustafizur impressed.  Ashish Reddy & Mustafizur took one wicket a piece.  This was Kolkata’s second win in IPL 2016. Gambhir @ 192 runs, earned the Orange Cap.

Now, Kolkata Knight Riders will play  the next match against Kings XI Punjab on April 19 and Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Mumbai Indians on April 18.
