Yesterday’s first match was an one-sided match. The match was played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Gujarat Lions won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore start was not good. Kohli hit  a first boundary off Praveen Kumar’s 2nd over. They lost Gayle early in penultimate ball of 4th over of the innings. Gayle was bowled by Dhawal Kulkarni in his 2nd over. Gayle continued their poor form since the century against England in World T20.  Kohli hit a four and de Villiers hit a six off Shivil Kaushik’s 1st over.  They hit a four and six off Tambe’s 1st over. Gujarat bowlers conceded 23 runs in 2 overs. Kohli hit a long-on six off Dhawal Kulkarni’s next over. de Villiers hit another six off Dhawal Kulkarni’s same over. Dhawal Kulkarni conceded 22 runs in 12th over of the innings.  He hit 2 consecutive fours in consecutive balls off Pravin Tambe’s 2nd over. Bangalore crossed 100-run mark in 12th over of the innings. de Villiers hit 2 sixes off Tambe’s 3rd over. He was dropped by Praveen Kumar in middle stages of the innings when he was on 67 runs. It was a costly miss as he went on to score 62 more runs. He hit 3 fours off Praveen Kumar’s 3rd over. Praveen Kumar gave 23 runs in 16th over of the innings. They hit a six off Dwayne Bravo’s final over. de Villiers hit 3 sixes off Shivil Kaushik’s final over. They conceded 30 runs apiece in 18th and 19th over of the innings. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 248 for 1 in 19.4 overs. Kohli scored a fine 109 off 55 balls and destroyed the Pune bowlers. This was his 3rd century of the season and also overall 3rd century in his IPL career. This was his highest score in his IPL career against his previous highest off 108 runs vs Rising Pune Supergiants at Bengaluru last week. This was the highest score by batsman in this season against the previous highest off 108 runs each by de Kock and Kohli vs Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rising Pune Supergiants at same ground respectively. He was the first batsman to score 3 centuries in an IPL season. The 229-run stand between Kohli and de Villiers in 96 balls was the highest. This was the highest 2nd wicket partnership by team in IPL history against their previous highest off 215 runs by same pair also for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Mumbai Indians at Mumbai last year. Kohli was caught by Dwayne Bravo off Praveen Kumar’s last over. At one stage Bangalore will cross 250-run mark as they lost 2 wickets in last 2 balls and Gujarat will make a comeback. de Villiers scored a brilliant 129 off 52 balls and hammered the Gujarat bowlers. This was his 1st century of the season and overall 3rd century in his IPL career. This was his second highest score in his IPL career behind 133 runs against Mumbai Indians at Mumbai last week. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. This was the second time a batsman scored 2 centuries in same innings in T20 matches and first in IPL history.  Bangalore posted a very competitive total of 248 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. This was second highest total in IPL matches behind 263 runs also for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors also at Bangalore in 2013. Praveen Kumar was the most successful bowler for Gujarat when he took 2 wickets including 2 wickets in last 2 balls.

Gujarat start was not good. They lost Dwayne Smith early in penultimate ball of 2nd over of the innings. Dwayne Smith was bowled by Aravind in his 1st over. Gujarat was comfortably placed at 37 for 1 in 4.5 overs. The 28-run stand between Brendon McCullum and Ravindra Jadeja in 19 balls paced the Gujarat innings. It was a turning point as they lost 6 more wickets for 37 runs in the span of 8 overs and Bangalore made a comeback. Gujarat was reduced to 74 for 8 in 12.5 overs and it looked Bangalore will win the match by huge margin. Chahal took 3 wickets for 19 runs in the quota of 4 overs. Gujarat was weakly placed at 104 for 8 in 18.2 overs. Aaron Finch scored a classy 37 off 38 balls and attacked the Bangalore bowling. This was the highest score by batsman in this innings. Finch was caught by Aravind off Stuart Binny’s only over. They lost last 2 wickets in 2 consecutive balls of the innings. Aravind took the winning catch and Bangalore won comfortably. Chris Jordan was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 4 wickets. Bangalore won the match by 144 runs. This was the biggest win by runs by team in IPL matches against their previous biggest off 140 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore also at Bengaluru in very first IPL match in 2008. This was Bangalore’s 5th win in IPL 2016. Both teams are chance to make playoffs if they win remaining matches.

Now, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on May 16. Gujarat Lions will also face Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19.

Sorry for not writing for 1 match. Yesterday’s match was a classic match. The match was played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore start was not good. Kohli was caught by Harbhajan Singh off McClenaghan’s 1st over. Gayle was caught by Rohit Sharma off Southee’s 2nd over. They lost 2 wickets for 17 runs in the span of 3.4 overs and it looked Mumbai will make a comeback. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 60 for 2 in 10 overs. The 43-run stand between AB de Villiers and KL Rahul in 39 balls increased the run-rate. They lost AB de Villiers in first ball of 11th over of the innings. AB de Villiers was caught by Rayudu off Krunal Pandya’s 2nd over. KL Rahul twisted his left ankle on 23 runs ans was struck on the glove by McClenaghan’s bouncer on 34 runs. It was a great recovery as he went on to score 34 more runs. Shane Watson hit a six and a four off McClenaghan’s 3rd over. Bangalore was also comfortably placed 98 for 3 in 15.2 overs. The 38-run stand between KL Rahul and Shane Watson in 32 balls paced the Bangalore innings. They lost Shane Watson in 16th over of the innings. Shane Watson was run out by a direct throw by Rohit Sharma. Bangalore was reduced to 98 for 4 in 15.3 overs. KL Rahul scored 34 runs in the Vs between fine leg and square leg and square leg and midwicket. KL Rahul scored a fine 68 off 53 balls and destroyed the Mumbai bowlers. This was his 4th fifty of the season and overall also 4th fifty in his IPL career. This was his highest score of the season against his previous highest of 52 runs vs Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru last week. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. The 53-run stand between KL Rahul and Sachin Baby in 27 balls was the highest and remained unbeaten. Bangalore posted a competitive total of 151 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. This was the lowest total for Bangalore in this season but previous lowest was 172 runs also against Mumbai Indians at Mumbai in their previous encounter. Krunal Pandya, Southee and McClenaghan took 1 wicket each for Mumbai.

Mumbai start was also not good. They lost Parthiv Patel early in first ball of 2nd over of the innings. Parthiv Patel was caught by Shane Watson off Sreenath Aarvind’s 1st over. Mumbai was comfortably placed at 60 for 1 in 9.2 overs. The 58-run stand between Rohit Sharma and Rayudu in 50 balls was the highest. They lost 2 wickets for 19 runs in the span of 3.4 overs and Bangalore will make a comeback. Rayudu scored a brilliant 44 off 47 balls and hammered the Bangalore bowling. Pollard hit his 400th six and back-to-back fours off Shane Watson’s final overs and the equation down to 26 off 18. Jos Buttler hit 2 consecutive sixes off Chris Jordan’s final over. Chris Jordan conceded 16 runs in his final over and the equation down to 10 off 12 and Mumbai made a comeback. Pollard scored a brutal 35 off 19 balls and smashed the Bangalore bowling. This was his second highest score of the season behind 51 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai. Jos Buttler scored a quickfire 29 off 11 balls and attacked the Bangalore bowling. The 55-run stand between Pollard and Jos Buttler in 21 balls remained unbeaten and fought back. Jos Buttler hit the winning six and Mumbai won comfortably. Varun Aaron was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 2 wickets. Mumbai won the match by 6 wickets. This was Mumbai’s 6th win in IPL 2016 and move up to top 4 again.

Now, Mumbai Indians will take on Kings XI Punjab on May 13. Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Gujarat Lions on May 14.

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore start was good. Kohli wafted 2 length deliveries off Mohit Sharma’s 1st over. He went straight to Stoinis backward point. KL Rahul dropped Stoinis in the early stages of the innings when he was on 19 runs. It was a costly miss as he went on to score 23 more runs.  He hit 4 consecutive boundaries and a six off Stoinis 1st over. KL Rahul scored a classy 42 off 25 balls and attacked the Punjab bowling. The 63-run stand between Kohli and KL Rahul in 45 balls started very well. This was the second 50+ first-wicket stand for Bangalore in this season. KL Rahul was bowled by Cariappa in his 1st over. They lost 3 wickets for 4 runs in the span of 1.2 overs and Punjab will make a comeback. Bangalore was reduced to 67 for 3 in 8.4 overs. The pair accumulated 46 runs with 2 fours. de Villiers hit a boundary off Axar Patel’s 2nd over. He hit 2 boundaries off Stoinis last over. He finding short third-man with a slice drive. He was the second batsman to score 2 centuries in an IPL season after Chris Gayle did in 2011. This was the highest score by batsman in this match. The 52-run stand between Kohli and Travis Head in 24 balls remained unbeaten. Zampa was the most successful bowler for Pune when he took 2 wickets in 12th over of the innings. Bangalore won the match by 7 wickets. This was Bangalore’s 3rd win in IPL 2016. Both the teams still have to chance to make it to playoffs if they win all remaining matches.

This was the second highest second wicket partnership by team in this season behind 157 runs between Gayle and Kohli in their previous encounter at Bengaluru. Warner was caught by AB de Villiers of Shamsi’s bowling. Williamson scored a classy 50 off 38 balls and attacked the Bangalore bowlers. This was his 1st fifty of his IPL career and  overall 17th fifty in his T20 career. This was his highest score in his IPL career but previous best was 36 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Viskhapatnam last year. This was the highest total for Hyderabad in this season but previous highest was 182 runs also against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru. Kane Richardson was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 2 wickets.

Bangalore start was average. The 42-run stand between Kohli and KL Rahul in 32 balls was highest. They lost Kohli in 2nd ball of 6th over of the innings. Kohli was caught by Ashish Reddy off Mustafizur Rahman’s 1st over. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 83 for 1 in 9.5 overs. KL Rahul scored a brilliant 51 off 28 balls and hammered the Hyderabad bowlers. This was his 1st fifty in his IPL career and overall 4th fifty in his T20 career. This was his highest score in his IPL career but previous best was 46 runs against Mumbai Indians at Dubai in 2014. This was the highest score by batsman in this innings. The 41-run stand between KL Rahul and AB de Villiers in 28 balls fought back. KL Rahul was caught by Naman Ojha off Henriques 1st over. Watson was run out by a direct throw by Sran. They lost 2 more wickets for 7 runs in the span of  1.3 overs and Hyderabad made a comeback. Bangalore was reduced to 90 for 3 in 11.2 overs. de Villiers was dropped by Deepak Hooda in middle stages of the innings when he was on 45 runs. It was not a costly miss as he went on to score 2 more runs. Bangalore was also comfortably placed at 129 for 3 in 14.3 overs and it looked Bangalore will win the match. de Villiers scored a brutal 47 off 32 balls shattered Hyderabad bowling. The 39-run stand between de Villiers and Sachin Baby in 28 balls increased the run-rate. de Villiers was caught by Williamson off Sran’s 3rd over. They lost 2 more wickets again for 23 runs in the span of 2.4 overs. They lost Parvez Rasool in last ball of the innings. Pravez Rasool was caught by Henriques off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s last over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the last wicket and Hyderabad won comfortably. All bowlers took 1 wicket each for Hyderabad. Hyderabad won the match by 15 runs. This was Hyderabad’s 4th win in IPL 2016.

Now, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Gujarat Lions on May 6. Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on May 2.

IPL 2016: RPS V RCB

Yesterday’s match was an one-sided match. The match was played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Rising Pune Supergiants won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore start was not good. They lost KL Rahul early in 4th over of the innings. K L Rahul  was caught by Ishant Sharma in Thisara Perera’s 2nd over. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a wide ball to Kohli  which beat the wicketkeeper and resulted in 5 extra runs. He bowled 2 consecutive wides. Bhatia dropped Kohli in later stages for Bangalore innings when he was on 53 runs. It was a costly miss as he went on to score 27 more runs. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 182 for 1 in 19.2 overs. The 155-run stand between Kohli and de Villiers in 95 balls was the highest. This was the 3rd century stand of the season & overall 5th century stand in their IPL career. This was the second highest 2nd wicket stand of the season and highest is still held by them for 157 runs also for Bangalore against Hyderabad at Bengaluru on April 12. Kohli scored  80 off 63 balls and  destroyed the Pune bowlers. This was his 3rd fifty of the season & overall 21st fifty of his IPL career. de Villiers scored a brutal 83 off 46 balls  and hammered the Pune bowlers all around the park. This was his 3rd fifty of the season & overall 20th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score by a batsman in this innings. They lost both in 2  consecutive balls in last over. Bangalore  posted a competitive total of 185 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Thisara Perera was the most successful bowler for Pune when he took 3 wickets including 2 in the last over of the innings. He conceded 12 runs & took 2 wickets in last over. This was the second highest total at this ground in IPL matches behind 187 runs also for Bangalore against Pune Warriors in 2013.

Pune’s started very badly. They lost du Plessis early in 2nd over of the innings. du Plessis was caught by Harshal Patel of Richardson’s bowling. Kevin Pietersen hurt himself the very first ball he faced and went hobbling out of the field.  After Pietersen injury, They lost Steven Smith in 3rd over of the innings. Steven Smith was run out  by a direct throw by Kohli.  Pune was comfortably placed 109 for 2 in 14.3 overs & it looked Pune will win the match. The 91-run stand between Rahane and Dhoni in 73 balls was the highest. Rahane scored a fine 60 off 46 balls and attacked the Bangalore bowlers. This was his 2nd fifty of the season & overall 16th fifty of his IPL career. This was the highest score in this innings. Shamsi took the first wicket of his IPL career when KL Rahul stumped  Rahane in 15th over of the innings. This was the turning point as Pune lost 2 more wickets for 11 runs in the span of 1.2 overs. Dhoni was caught by de Villiers of Harshal Patel’s bowling in penultimate ball of the 16th over. Dhoni scored a brilliant 41 off 38 balls and shattered the Bangalore bowling. Pune was  weakly placed at 120 for 4 in 18.2 overs. The 44-run stand between Thisara Perera and Bhatia in 16 balls has increased the run-rate. Thisara Perera scored a quickfire 34 off 13 balls and crushed the Bangalore bowling. They lost last 4 wickets for 5 runs in the span of 1.2 overs & Bangalore made a comeback. Watson took 2 wickets in penultimate over of the innings to dismiss Thisara Perera and Ashwin. Richardson bowled the last over conceding only 7 runs & Bangalore won comfortably. He was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 3 wickets including 2 in the last over i.e.  Bhatia & Murugan Ashwin. Bangalore won the match by 13 runs. This was Bangalore’s 2nd win in IPL 2016.

McClenaghan was caught by Harbhajan Singh to dismiss KL Rahul in 4th over of Bangalore innings. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 91 for 1 in 10.1 overs. The 59-run stand between Kohli & de Villiers in 39 balls increasing the run-rate. They lost 3 wickets for 8 runs in the span of 3.2 overs & Mumbai will make a comeback. Kohli scored a classy 33 off 30 balls shattered the Mumbai bowling. Bangalore was also kept placed at 162 for 4 in 19 overs. The 63-run stand between Head & Sarfaraz Khan in 34 balls was the highest. They lost last 3 wickets for 7 runs in the span of 0.5 overs. Head scored a fine 37 off 24 balls attacked the Mumbai bowling. This was the highest score in this innings. This was his debut match in his IPL career. Bangalore lost 3 wickets for 8 runs in the  final over drama. Bangalore posted a competitive total of 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Bumrah was the most successful bowler for Mumbai when he took 3 wickets & 2 in the final over. This was his best bowling figures in IPL career.

They lost Buttler in 16th over of the innings. Iqbal Abdulla was caught by Watson to dismiss Buttler in 16th over of Mumbai innings. Pollard scored a brutal 39 off 19 balls hammered the Bangalore bowlers. The 31-run stand between Pollard & Hardik Pandya in 14 balls remained unbeaten. Pollard hit the winning four & Mumbai won comfortably. Iqbal Abdulla was the most successful bowler for Bangalore when he took 3 wickets in his first game of the season. Mumbai won the match by 6 wickets. This was Mumbai’s 2nd win in IPL 2016.

Yesterday’s second match was an exciting match. The match was played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore was not having a good note. They lost Gayle early in 1st over of the innings. de Villiers was appealed for LBW raised by umpire but decision was not out. Bangalore was comfortably placed at 107 for 1 in 11.1 overs. The 107 run-stand between Kohli & de Villiers in 65 balls was the highest. de Villiers scored a brutal 55 off 33 balls shattered the Delhi bowlers. This was his 2nd fifty of the season & overall 15th fifty of his IPL career. Bangalore was superbly placed at 170 for 2 in 16.1 overs. Watson scored a gigantic 33 off 19 balls attacked the Delhi bowlers. The 63-run stand between Kohli & Watson in 30 balls was huge. The lost 3 wickets for 7 runs in the span of 2 overs and Delhi will make a comeback. Kohli scored a fine 79 off 48 balls destroyed the Delhi bowlers. This was his 2nd fifty of the season & overall 18th fifty of his career. This was the highest score in this innings. Bangalore posted a huge total of 191 for 5 in 20 overs. This was the 4th highest total at this ground. Mohammad Shami was the most successful bowler when he took 2 wickets since his return.

Delhi was comfortably placed 184 for 2 in 18.1 overs. de Kock scored a huge 108 off 51 balls hammered the Bangalore bowlers. This was his first century of the season & also overall 1st century of his IPL career. This was first centurion of the season by player. This was the highest score in this innings. This was also the highest score of his IPL career his previous best was 69 runs also against Royal Challengers Bangalore at same ground last year. The 134-run stand between de Kock & Nair in 76 balls was the highest. This was the highest 3rd wicket partnership by team in IPL history. They lost de Kock in 19th over of the innings. Duminy hit the winning run & Delhi won comfortably. This was Delhi’s 2nd win in IPL 2016. This was Delhi’s 1st win against Bangalore since April 2010. Delhi won the match by 7 wickets.

Now, Delhi Daredevils will take on Mumbai Indians on April 23. Royal Challengers Bangalore will also face Mumbai Indians on April 20.

Sorry for not writing in last 6 days. Wednesday’s match was an one-sided match totally. The match was played at MCA International Stadium, Pune.

Royal Challengers Bangalore innings had a good start. Binny was no-balled to Gayle at the very early stages of Royal Challengers Bangalore innings with collision of Samson when Gayle was on 7 runs. The decision was changed & Gayle escaped.  The 41 run-stand between Gayle & Kohli in 36 balls was not very important. They lost 2 wickets Gayle & Kohli in quick succession. de Villiers scored a brisk 66 off 38 balls & crushed the Rajasthan bowling attack. This was the highest score in IPL 2015. This was de Villiers’ 2nd highest score in IPL 2015 till yesterday behind 133 runs against Mumbai Indians at Mumbai on May 10. Royal Challengers Bangalore innings was comfortably placed at 159 for 2 in 18.3 overs. The 113 run-stand between de Villiers & Mandeep Singh in 67 balls steadied the Royal Challengers Bangalore innings. This was the highest partnership in Royal Challengers Bangalore innings. This was 2nd highest 3rd wicket stand for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL history behind 120 runs between Gayle & de Villiers against Pune Warriors India at Bengaluru in 2013. They lost 2 wickets de Villiers & Karthik again in quick succession. Mandeep Singh scored a huge 54 off 34 balls & attacked the Rajasthan bowlers. This was Mandeep’s highest score in IPL 2015 till yesterday beating 45 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru on May 2. They started slow in first 10 overs & picked up speed in later overs. Rajasthan Royals bowlers sprayed all over the field throughout the innings. Royal Challengers Bangalore innings final total was 180 for 4 in 20 overs. This was Bangalore’s highest total at this ground beating 175 runs against Pune Warriors India in 2013.

Rajasthan Royals innings had a bad start. They lost 3 early wickets for 55 runs in the span of 8.1 overs. With the departure of three Rajasthan batsmen Rajasthan Royals innings was reduced to 55 for 3 in 8.1 overs. Rahane scored a fine 42 off 39 balls & tried to hammer the Bangalore bowlers. This was the highest score in Rajasthan Royals innings. Rajasthan Royals innings was steady at 79 for 3 in 12 overs. The 24 run-stand between Rahane & Karun in 24 balls was much responsible for Rajasthan Royals innings. This was the highest partnership in Rajasthan Royals innings. They lost last 7 wickets for 30 runs in the span of 7 overs & the situation changed. They started not very quick in first 10 overs & slow in later overs. Harshal Patel took 2 wickets for 15 runs & Bangalore won comfortably. Rajasthan Royals innings was bowled out at 109 runs in 19 overs. Chahal took the winning wicket. Bangalore won the match by 71 runs. This was Bangalore’s 8th win in IPL 2015.

With this win, Bangalore had another chance to make it to the final. Now, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Chennai Super Kings at JSCA Stadium on 22 May.

At another place England innings was reduced to 30 for 4. The 176 run-stand between Root & Stokes recovered very well. Root went on to score 90 runs & Stokes also went on to score 85 runs. Matt Henry took 3 wickets on debut. England first innings total at 247 for 7 at the end of first day.
